Ali is a physician and an orthopaedic surgery resident at Johns Hopkins, who brings a rich background as a teacher, author, advisor, and scientist. She is the founder of the non-profit organization Kids Who Care, Inc., where she has harnessed over 20 years of experience in advocacy and leadership.

Her academic pursuits included a faculty position in the Biomolecular Engineering department at NYU, where she remains dedicated to mentoring as a premed advisor. Ali's research expertise extends from Orthopaedics to epigenetics, where she focused on changes in gene expression related to PTSD, the subject of her PhD research.

Before her medical and academic career, Ali spent over three years studying yoga in India. Her passion for yoga led her to teach classes worldwide, including at esteemed studios like Ashtanga Yoga New York. This experience has been integral in her clinical research, where she investigates the benefits of yoga and meditation for back pain and other chronic conditions. Her commitment to this field is further demonstrated through her co-authorship and instruction of the popular online Coursera course on the physiological benefits of yoga.
